The first month of Maryland’s season officially came to a close after Saturday’s 77-56 win over Maryland Eastern Shore, the 10th game in what has been an eventful first 30 days for the Terrapins. It included three marquee non-conference games – a historic win over Georgetown, a team-building loss at North Carolina, a nerve-wracking victory over Connecticut at Madison Square Garden – and plenty of tension in between.
The unforgiving nature of a college basketball schedule hardly allows for any rest from October to March, except for a two-week window in late December as players buckle down for final exams and the schedule slows during the week of Christmas.
