Walker-Kimbrough wins homecoming as No. 4 Maryland women top Duquesne, 77-57

Brionna Jones finished with 20 points and 10 rebounds and Shatori Walker-Kimbrough added 17 points as No. 4 Maryland smothered Duquesne early then pulled away late in a 77-57 victory on Wednesday night.

The Terrapins (12-0) held the Dukes without a basket for a nearly nine-minute stretch in the second quarter to build a 32-16 halftime lead. Duquesne (6-7) trailed by as much as 26 in the third quarter but drew within 64-54 with 4:11 to go before Maryland responded with a 13-3 run to end it.

Amadea Szamosi led the Dukes with 21 points but Duquesne shot just 31 percent (16 of 52) from the field and was outscored 38-14 in the paint by the bigger, deeper Terrapins.
