Maryland football enters the Mike Locksley era trying to return to the postseason after posting a 5-7 record in 2018. While the Terps enter the season with plenty of talent, Vegas sportsbooks aren’t too optimistic about their chances.
Caesar’s Palace set Maryland’s over/under win total at 3.5 when it released Big Ten and SEC projections Monday afternoon.
Other over/under projections are somewhat higher, but still come in below last season’s win total. FanDuel and Bovada have the number at 4.5 wins, and several other books figure to open betting in the near future.
Maryland returns 11 starters from last year and brought in several potential impact transfers in the offseason, highlighted by quarterback Josh Jackson and linebackers Shaq Smith and Keandre Jones (at least Jackson and Smith will be immediately eligible; Jones is still awaiting word from the NCAA).
