With the possibility of losing several starters after next season, one of Mark Turgeon's priorities this spring was adding a transfer who could give his 2016-17 Maryland men's basketball team more experience.
Terry Larrier, a 6-foot-8 freshman wing at Virginia Commonwealth and former top-40 recruit, is transferring, and the Terps and Connecticut are considered the favorites, according to CBS Sports.
Larrier visited College Park this week, InsideMDSports.com reported.
After averaging 6.6 points and three rebounds in 18.5 minutes a game as a freshman, Larrier announced he was transferring when Shaka Smart left to become the coach at Texas.
