Maryland’s athletic director position has been in a state of uncertainty for months. Kevin Anderson, who held the job since 2011, began a six-month “sabbatical” in October after reportedly having been fired by university president Wallace Loh. Since then, Damon Evans has taken day-to-day responsibilities of the position, but now it’s time for Maryland to commence a national search.
Evans is still a strong candidate to win the job for good, but it’s still unclear who else is in serious consideration or the timeline for making a decision. We’ll keep updating this stream as information becomes available.
