Randy Edsall returned to Rentschler Field Friday morning, his football home once again, and apologized for how he left the program the first time.
"I apologize for how I left," Edsall said. "I take full accountability and now we move forward together to grow this program."
Edsall was emotional in his return, also saying, "Wow, what else can I say but wow. ... Thank you for the opportunity to come back and finish what I started."
Said Benedict: "We need a successful head coach that has built a program, wants to be part of UConn for what it is and not what it isn't.
