With all the turmoil that occurred within Maryland football over the past year, more than a dozen players considered transferring from the program, according to The Baltimore Sun’s Don Markus.
Thirteen players put their name into the NCAA transfer portal during or shortly after the season ended, which allows schools to know that players are exploring their options and are open to being recruited by another school. The portal helps facilitate the process of a new rule that went in place last October, which said that players cannot be blocked from transferring to rival schools.
