Maryland football locked down its first commitment in nearly two months with three-star linebacker Caleb Wheatland announcing his pledge Thursday.
The Chantilly, Virginia native had flown under the radar with the inability to camp, but got on campus in College Park and worked out for the Terrapin coaching staff and quickly formed a bond.
“Everything about [Maryland] is crazy,” Wheatland told Testudo Times. “The facility, the coaches... The coaches know what they’re doing and I feel like I’m comfortable with them to where I know they can get me to the next level.”
Wheatland chose the Terps over Kent State, Liberty, Old Dominion, Massachusetts and Utah State among others.
