From the time the investigation into Maryland football’s culture was announced in August to its completion in October, the University System of Maryland racked up a bill over $1.57 million. A part of that bill, half the eight-member commission racked up over six figures each, The Washington Post reported Wednesday.
The bulk of the cost was paid to Baltimore law firm DLA Piper, totalling $636,772, while every member of the commission was paid $650/hour for their work. The commissioned report would be used to justify retaining DJ Durkin on Oct. 30, though it made no explicit personnel recommendations.
