Wednesday marked the open of the early signing period for all Division I non-football sports, and Maryland basketball — both the men’s and women’s teams — turned commitments into an official acquisitions.
Mark Turgeon’s 2020 class consists of just one recruit at the moment, and that is Marcus Dockery from Brewster Academy in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire. The three-star prospect is the 18th-best combo guard in the class and No. 155 player overall, per the 247Sports Composite.
At 6’1, 175 lbs, Dockery’s build closely resembles that of senior point guard Anthony Cowan Jr. (6’0, 180). Their play styles aren’t dissimilar either, as both can attack the rim and make opponents pay from beyond the arc.
