On the surface, nothing seemed to change for the Maryland men’s basketball team today, as it beat Towson for the 13th time in as many meetings, the local pecking order reinforced once more.
But the Terps’ reminder of their area supremacy was offered through gritted teeth, with frayed nerves. A 71-66 win over the Tigers at Xfinity Center was by no means easy. It was hard earned before an announced crowd of 16,797.
This was the teams’ first meeting in 20 years, and it seemed to have enough momentum swings, lead changes and drama to fill a two-decade series.
