All afternoon, Maryland tried to hang on amid the Bowling Green deluge. The Falcons missed two short field goals, and the Terps defense held on fourth down deep in its own territory twice. Against a high-powered, up-tempo offense, Maryland was bending, but it wasn't breaking.
But late in the fourth quarter of a game that featured a 55-minute weather delay at halftime, Maryland was eventually swept away in a 48-27 loss to Bowling Green before an announced 36,332 at Byrd Stadium.
The Falcons' 692 yards of offense were the most surrendered by Maryland since the Terps' 40-37 loss to West Virginia last September.
