Caleb Rowe will start at quarterback for Maryland against South Florida this weekend and Daxx Garman will back him up, Maryland announced Monday with the release of its weekly depth chart.
Perry Hills had started the first two games of the season after beating out Rowe and Garman in a three-way competition in August to win the job. But his first two games were pedestrian, and he was 27 of 51 passing for 306 yards, four touchdowns and two interceptions.
In Saturday's 48-27 loss to Bowling Green, Hills was 15 of 30 for 168 yards, two touchdowns and an interception.
