Junior forward Ivan Bender has a torn meniscus in his right knee and will miss the remainder of 2017-2018 season, Maryland men’s basketball coach Mark Turgeon announced this morning.

The news comes just days after the school announced that sophomore forward Justin Jackson would miss the rest of the season with a torn labrum.

Bender, who was expected to see his minutes increase because of Jackson’s injury, suffered the injury in the second half of the Terps’ 66-45 win over UMBC on Friday. He is scheduled to have surgery later this week.
