Maryland sophomore guard Dion Wiley has slowly been recuperating since undergoing surgery to repair a torn meniscus last month and is expected to be off crutches next week, Coach Mark Turgeon said Wednesday.
While Wiley is expected to miss the rest of the season after suffering the injury in early November, Turgeon has been encouraged with his progress. Wiley, the former Potomac star who was expected to begin the season as Maryland’s starting shooting guard, is expected to resume some basketball activities in mid-February.
“He’s kept his weight off. He’s got a great attitude. Now the hard part where rehab starts.
