Maryland football is expected to make a pair of hires, filling in key roles that had been left opened since earlier this offseason.
Multiple sources confirmed to Testudo Times that Ron Zook will be elevated to special teams coordinator.
Maryland athletics declined to comment.
Zook, 66, has been a part of the Maryland program since 2019, when head coach Mike Locksley added him as a senior analyst, an off-field, non-recruiting role. The two have a strong bond, as Locksley worked under Zook at Florida and followed him to Illinois.
On top of 10 years of experience as a college head coach, Zook has deep roots in college and the NFL.
