Maryland basketball has its first new addition in nearly three months, as three-star guard Serrel Smith announced his commitment to the Terps on Wednesday.
Smith is the No. 178 player and No. 13 combo guard in his class and the No. 18 prospect in Florida, per 247Sports Composite rankings. He played for St. Petersburg High School in the Tampa area, where he averaged 30 points per game and led his team to the state semifinals.
His recruitment was over for a long while, as Smith committed to Ole Miss in September and signed with the Rebels in November.
