Running back Wes Brown suspended first three games of season

Maryland senior running back Wes Brown has been suspended for the first three games of the season for a retroactive violation of the school’s student-athlete code of conduct last November.

After Wednesday’s fall camp practice, Terrapins’ Coach DJ Durkin announced the punishment for Brown, which began last November as an indefinite suspension. Brown, the former Good Counsel star who was one of the jewels of Maryland’s 2012 recruiting class, sat out the final two games of the season in 2015 but returned to spring practice in March. He will continue to practice with the team, with his return to game-action slated for Oct.
