Report: Ball State coach Pete Lembo to join Maryland staff

Maryland will add Ball State coach Pete Lembo to its staff as special teams coach, according to a Fox Sports report.

Lembo, 45, was 8-16 in the past two seasons after going 10-3 in 2013. Lembo spent five years with Ball State and was 33-29. In his career, Lembo is 112-65 in three stops, which also includes Elon and Lehigh.

Lembo was an offensive lineman at Georgetown during his playing career. He would be the third member of new Maryland coach DJ Durkin’s staff with head coaching experience, in addition to former Virginia coach Mike London, who is Maryland’s associate head coach and defensive line coach, and former Syracuse coach Scott Shafer, now the Terps’ defensive coordinator.
