Rare fullcourt press helps Maryland basketball put away Princeton

If Princeton’s 3-2 zone came as a surprise to Maryland coach Mark Turgeon and his No. 6 Terps, the fullcourt press the Tigers saw late in the first half certainly had to be just as much of a shock given that Turgeon’s team had not shown it all season.

The press – as well as the adjustment the Terps made in their own zone offense – proved to be the difference in turning a six-point deficit into an eight-point lead and eventually an 82-61 victory over the Tigers at Royal Farms Arena Saturday.
