In an emotional news conference that lasted just under five minutes, following Maryland’s 49-28 loss to Ohio State on Saturday, Coach Randy Edsall opened the session by telling reporters how proud of his team he was. Not only did they stand up and compete with the country’s top team, but they did it with a cloud of distraction hovering over their program.
Maryland is considering firing Edsall, although he said Saturday that he hasn’t had any discussions with the administration regarding his future. He stormed out of the press conference after one reporter asked him about his pregame ritual of shaking hands with each of his players.
