Maryland beat the Wolverines on Friday night by a final score of 2-1. Senior Welma Luus scored both goals for the Terrapins.
No. 9 Maryland field hockey (7-3) put a stop to No. 18 Michigan's six-game win streak on Friday night with a 2-1 victory at the Field Hockey and Lacrosse Complex in College Park.
Michigan (6-3) initially took the lead with a redirection goal from Sina Lampe with 19:32 left in the first half. It was Lampe's second goal of the season and put the Wolverines in the lead.
Maryland responded seven minutes later off of a well-designed penalty corner.
