Zach Whittier has had an exceptional season for No. 1 Maryland men’s lacrosse.
Getting his first career start against Richmond and starting consistently since, Whittier has a point in every game this season. And yet, looking at the star power of the Terps’ starting six attackers, one could argue that he was the most underrated of the bunch.
Underrated, that is, until Saturday. Whittier totaled five points — including a two-goal, two-assist second quarter that he capped with a mid-air rip from range — for his best game in the red and white.
Fueled by a dominant display from Whittier and the rest of the midfield, the Terps orchestrated a 14-3 demolition of Delaware in their return to College Park.
