MINNEAPOLIS — Maryland had a front-row seat for “Jaz-fest” on Saturday afternoon at Target Center, and the Terrapins were treated to an incredible show. That was absolutely not what they were hoping for.
Nebraska guard Jaz Shelley scored a season-high 30 points as she dragged the fifth-seeded Cornhuskers to their first Big Ten tournament title game since 2014 with a 78-68 victory over the eighth-seeded Terps. The Huskers (22-10) never trailed.
“We really felt like if we kind of kept their big three at bay, that we had a great shot,” Maryland Coach Brenda Frese said. “But you had the ‘Jaz-fest’ with Jaz.
