NCAA Tournament 2016: Second half run pushes Terps to Sweet 16

Maryland got all they could handle from Hawaii.

The Terps used a 14-0 second half run to stamp their ticket to the Sweet 16 in a 73-60 win on Sunday. This is the eighth time in the past 22 years that Maryland has made it to the Sweet 16.

Guard Melo Trimble led Maryland with 24 points (5-of-14) to go along with eight rebounds and three assists. Four of the five Terp starters finished in double figures on the evening.

Despite a tight-knit affair through the first 30 minutes, Maryland finally woke up.

With 11:33 to go, Maryland still continued to struggle from beyond the arc (0-14).
