NCAA Tournament 2016: A look at South Dakota State by the numbers

Maryland got a very tough task when the brackets were released.

Even as a No. 12 seed, South Dakota State is a lethal squad that could cause problems. The Terrapins enter the NCAA Tournament field as a No. 5 seed after recording just one victory in this past weekend’s Big Ten Tournament.

The Jackrabbits come to Spokane after winning the Summit League Tournament to receive an automatic bid. This is a very balanced group with three players averaging double figures and five players averaging at least eight points-per-game.

This is an offensively gifted team that has the ability to keep up with Maryland if the Terps struggle to score the basketball.
