Maryland field hockey kicked off its season last weekend, but before then, three Terps were named to the Big Ten Players to Watch list. Last week, the conference chose Josie Hollamon, Hope Rose and Emma DeBerdine as three of the 27 selectees.
Last weekend, the Terps squeezed out two competitive wins over then-No. 7 Louisville and Drexel. Hollamon, Rose and DeBerdine each heavily contributed.
Hollamon kick-started the season Friday against Louisville, scoring the Terps’ first goal of the year in the second quarter. But it was Rose who stole the show, scoring the game-winning goal in double overtime.
