Three out of four former Maryland women’s basketball stars saw time on the court in the No. 1 seed Connecticut Sun’s loss against the No. 6 seed Chicago Sky in Game 1 of the semifinals of the WNBA playoffs.
Forward Alyssa Thomas, guard Kaila Charles and forward Brionna Jones, who was just named 2021 KIA Most Improved Player by the WNBA, all contributed to the team in the Sun’s 101-95 double-overtime loss. Forward Stephanie Jones was the only former Maryland player on the roster to not receive any minutes in the game.
Brionna Jones was easily the most impactful player for the Sun as she went 9-for-16 from the field for 22 total points.
