Maryland women’s tennis freshman Francesca Feodorov and sophomore Minorka Miranda earned singles victories in the Bedford Cup this past weekend.
Feodorov kicked off her run with a straight-set victory over Hannah Yang from George Mason 6-0, 6-2. The freshman then went on to defeat Genevieve Wurtz from Loyola, 6-0, 6-0. It was not until she faced George Washington’s Katarina Marinkovikj that she fell in three sets 6-4, 3-6, 6-10. However, Feodorov was still able to secure third place with yet another 6-0, 6-0 shutout, this time against Jessica Assenmacher from Towson.
Miranda had a strong day as well winning a tiebreaker against Gabriela Davidescu from VCU 6-3, 3-6, 10-8.
