Former Maryland baseball star and current Tampa Bay Ray Brandon Lowe will compete in the upcoming 2021 MLB playoffs after his team officially clinched a postseason spot.
The former Terp has hit with a .236 batting average, while producing 89 runs, 119 hits, 34 home runs and 86 RBIs throughout the 2021 season. Lowe has recorded nine runs and 16 hits across the past 15 games.
Lowe’s solid level of play has helped the Rays maintain first place in the AL East. Heading into the weekend, the Rays have a six-game lead over second place the Boston Red Sox in the division.
