Football offensive lineman Johnny Jordan will play for Maryland this fall after opting back in Thursday, a team spokesperson confirmed to Testudo Times.
The Terps’ starting center in 2019 brings much needed help and experience to an offensive line that will be protecting a young quarterback this fall.
Jordan announced back in August that he would not play the 2020 season, joining quarterback Josh Jackson, cornerback Vincent Flythe, defensive tackle Jalen Alexander, offensive guard Austin Fontaine and linebacker TJ Kautai in the opt-out.
The senior is Maryland’s sole remaining interior lineman, with right tackle Marcus Minor and left tackle Jaelyn Duncan returning to play alongside him The team’s quarterback situation remains between redshirt freshman Lance LeGendre and transfer Taulia Tagovailoa, both of whom will benefit from Jordan’s veteran presence.
