Former Maryland women’s basketball forward Diandra Tchatchouang and former Maryland field hockey defender Grace Balsdon each won bronze medals in their respective sports at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
Tchatchouang represented Team France and helped defeat Serbia, 91-76 in the bronze medal game. She played for the Terps during the 2010 and 2011 seasons. Three times during the 2010 season, Tchatchouang earned the ACC Rookie of the Week and finished her first year with the Terps No. 3 in the freshman record book with 44 blocks.
Balsdon represented Great Britain and scored the game-winning goal for her team as they defeated India, 4-3 to secure the bronze.
