Former Maryland baseball and current Tampa Bay Rays player Brandon Lowe collected his 30th home run of the 2021 season last night while playing against the Philadelphia Phillies.
Lowe rocketed a solo homer to right-center field in the top of the fifth inning to extend his team’s lead to two runs. The one-run bomb was the only hit of Lowe’s evening as he went just 1-for-5 at the plate in the 7-4 win for the Rays.
With the home run, the former Terp now has 30 home runs on the season, which is his new career-high in a single season by a longshot.
