Maryland Athletics has announced that it’s planning for sports competitions to take place in the winter and spring, and it hopes that fan attendance can be accomplished in a safe manner.
In an email sent to all students, the school said, “If we are able to host fans in the stands during those seasons, we will make every effort to safely maximize the student attendance at every game.”
Maryland football head coach Mike Locksley expressed support for a winter/spring season in a press conference Aug. 13 following the Big Ten’s announcement that there would be no fall sports.
