Former Maryland baseball infielder Brandon Lowe has been on a tear through the early part of the 2020 MLB season, ranking in the top-10 of several offensive categories in just his third professional season.
After injuries to his shin and quad prevented him from winning American League Rookie of the Year in 2019, the Tampa Bay Rays’ second baseman has continued to improve as a hitter this season. Sunday marked the fourth consecutive game in which Lowe homered, the first time a Ray has done so since Evan Longoria in 2016.
Most recently, Lowe hit a solo home run in the ninth inning against the Blue Jays Sunday, winning the game for the Rays.
