Maryland extended the contract of athletics director Damon Evans through June 2029, the university announced Monday.
Evans took over as athletic director in June 2018 after initially joining the athletics department in December 2014, when he served as executive athletic director and chief financial officer.
The school has won three national championships under Evans’ leadership, including men’s soccer in 2018, women’s lacrosse in 2019 and men’s lacrosse in 2022. Additionally, the football team has won three consecutive bowl games for the first time in program history.
