Maryland baseball’s Anthony Papio was named the assistant coach of the program on Wednesday.
Papio most recently served as a volunteer in that role and played for the Terps during his collegiate career. The Maryland native has coached in the program for five seasons and he was a part of Maryland’s two recent NCAA Tournament appearances in 2017 and 2021.
“I’m extremely grateful for this opportunity,” Papio said in a release. “The chance to continue representing my home state and alma mater is truly and honor and something I will not take for granted. More importantly, I’m eager to continue building on the foundation set by Coach Vaughn, this staff and our players past and present.
