Maryland baseball added its first transfer of the offseason Thursday night, as Pearl River Community College infielder/outfielder Hollis Porter announced his commitment via X.
Porter, listed as a first baseman, right fielder and left fielder, comes to Maryland following one of the best statistical seasons in Pearl River baseball history. In his redshirt freshman year, Porter posted a .399 batting average, 20 home runs and 73 RBIs en route to Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference (MACCC) Player of the Year.
His 20 home runs broke Pearl River’s single-season record, and his 73 RBIs were the second-most in a single-season in program history.
