Maryland football’s Max Bortenschlager will taking his talents and the rest of his college eligibility to South Beach, as the quarterback has officially transferred to Florida International University, according to Underdog Dynasty’s Eric Henry.
Bortenschlager will join head coach Butch Davis and the Panthers as a grad transfer for the 2020-21 season and will be immediately eligible with two seasons of eligibility remaining. With their starting quarterback from a season ago, James Morgan, having left for the NFL, Bortenschlager is expected to compete for the starting job.
Bortenschlager appeared in 19 games for the Terps over his first three seasons in College Park, throwing for 1,522 yards with 11 touchdowns to five interceptions.
