Maryland baseball infielder Matt Shaw was named to the Perfect Game Freshman All-American second team. The second baseman was a standout for the Terps all season as they advanced to their first NCAA Tournament regional since 2017.
Shaw led Maryland and all-Big Ten freshman in batting average, posting a .332 mark. He also led the team in doubles and hits in his debut collegiate season. Defensively, Shaw was remarkable in the infield, making big plays at second base.
This is the Brimfield, Massachusetts native's second All-American award. On June 9, Shaw was named to the Collegiate Baseball Freshman All-American team.
