A plethora of Maryland baseball standouts have been performing well in various summer leagues thus far. Here’s an update on how some Terps have been playing:
Nine Terps are currently playing in the New England Collegiate Baseball League: Devin Russell, Chris Hacopian, Brayden Martin, Alex Calarco, Ryan Van Buren, Elijah Lambros, Michael Iannazzo, Jacob Orr and Andrew Johnson.
One of the best performers has been Iannazzo, who leads the Danbury Westerners with a .342 batting average and .432 on-base percentage. Meanwhile, Calarco has four doubles, two home runs and eight RBIs through 11 games.
The lone Terp in the Appalachian League is pitcher Duke McCarron.
