Former Maryland men’s basketball guard Melo Trimble has left the NBL in Australia to sign a one-year deal with Spanish basketball club Montakit Fuenlabrada, according to Inside Maryland Sports.
Trimble reportedly has some interest from NBA teams, though he’s still waiting for on a multi-year deal. His new contract in Spain’s top league, Liga ACB, gives him the option to leave if he receives an NBA offer.
Last season, the former Terp led Melbourne United to the league semifinals, averaging 19.9 points, 3.3 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 1.3 steals per game. He led the NBL in scoring the season prior while playing for Cairns Taipans.
