Maryland men’s basketball brought in four transfers this offseason but one of them won’t be back on the court with the Terps for a bit.The team announced that sophomore guard Ian Martinez who transferred from Utah underwent successful surgery on a torn meniscus in his knee.
According to the team, Martinez suffered a tear during a recent summer workout. Recovery time is expected to be between 2-3 months.
A four-star recruit coming out of high school, his lone college season with the Utes showed some promise. Martinez appeared in 25 games and almost averaged 10 points in the final six games of the regular season.
