After a stellar freshman season, Maryland baseball infielder Matt Shaw has received some national recognition.
The publication Collegiate Baseball Newspaper named Shaw an All-American on Wednesday. This marks the eighth straight year a Terp has been named to either an All-American or freshman All-American.
Shaw had a great first year despite mainly playing against conference opponents. The Brimfield, Massachusetts native finished the season with a .332 batting average, seven home runs and drove in 30 runs.
Shaw launched two home runs in what ended up being the final game of the season.
