MM 5.3: Maryland football earns two commitments

Former Notre Dame punter Bryce McFerson and DeMatha high school junior running back Bud Coombs announced their commitments to Maryland football Wednesday afternoon.

McFerson spent the last two seasons with the Fighting Irish, averaging 45.1 yards per kick on 38 punts as a sophomore. He entered the transfer portal on April 16 and has three more years of eligibility remaining.

Coombs is a dual-sport athlete and will also play for Maryland baseball. The three-star prospect is the sixth member of his class to commit to Maryland.
