Maryland men’s lacrosse celebrated a significant achievement on Thursday, as three of its players were honored as All-Americans.
Leading the group was senior close defenseman Ajax Zappitello, who received the Lt. Raymond J. Enners Outstanding Player of the Year award. Zappitello is only the seventh Terp to earn this honor. As a First Team All-American, he was a cornerstone of Maryland’s formidable defense in 2024, causing 23 turnovers and collecting 31 ground balls.
Luke Wierman earned a place on the Second Team. Dominant at faceoff X, he secured a third-best national win rate of 62% in his draws.
