Maryland men’s basketball assistant coach Orlando “Bino” Ranson is leaving the program to take a position at DePaul, a source confirmed to Testudo Times.
Ranson has been the longest-standing assistant on head coach Mark Turgeon’s staff in College Park, coaching for 11 seasons since being hired in the summer of 2010.
While on the Terrapin staff, Ranson has become a fixture on the recruiting trail, consistently bringing in key talent from the DMV area and across the nation. Since 2011, Ranson has been the primary recruiter for 12 incoming players, including five-stars Diamond Stone and Jalen Smith and four-stars such as Darryl Morsell, James Graham III and Charles Mitchell.
