Maryland men’s basketball earned a commitment from Texas A&M forward Solomon Washington, he announced Saturday on Instagram.
The 6-foot-7, 220-pound junior averaged 4.7 points and 5.1 rebounds per game last season. He started 23 games this past campaign for the Aggies, and made 19 starts in the 2023-24 season.
Washington was named the 2022 Gatorade Louisiana Boys Basketball Player of the Year, and was the No. 1-ranked prospect from Louisiana, per the 247Sports Composite.
Washington notched just seven total points across two NCAA Tournament games this past season, but will bring size and physicality to the frontcourt, as well as familiarity with head coach Buzz Williams’ scheme.
