Maryland men’s basketball and women’s basketball both cracked the top-six in ESPN’s “way-too-early” preseason rankings.
The men’s team is listed at No. 6 on Jeff Borzello’s rankings. Borzello has all of Maryland’s starters returning outside of guard Darryl Morsell, who announced Monday that he will be exploring all options, including testing the NBA Draft waters and entering the transfer portal. Guard Aaron Wiggins could potentially test the professional waters this offseason, though he isn’t projected to go in either round of the draft.
Head coach Mark Turgeon made a splash this weekend, reeling in the transfers of Georgetown center Qudus Wahab and Rhode Island point guard Fatts Russell, who figure to make an immediate impact for the Terps.
