Maryland men’s basketball is expected to hire former Wake Forest head coach Danny Manning as an assistant coach, a source confirmed to Testudo Times.
Manning, who was a teammate of Maryland head coach Mark Turgeon at Kansas, has eight years of head coaching experience, including a six-year stint leading the Wake Forest program.
As a player, Manning was a star who was drafted first overall by the Los Angeles Clippers in 1988 and went on to play in the league until 2003. Manning transitioned to a manager then assistant role at Kansas before taking over as the head coach of Tulsa in 2012 and Wake Forest in 2014.
